France,
Burgundy,
Quite deep colour here, dark purple-blue core. High density, colouring the glass. Nose is mostly fruity. Not a lot of oak. In the direction of ripe dark fruit, like dark plum, blackberry. A slight meatiness with some spiciness of pepper, ginger and black pepper. Palate is quite full-bodied. Yet, I would say it is made in a very fresh style. It is quite concentrated in terms of fruit, but the tannins are already quite subtle and rounded. There is a good degree of acidity as well. I love those peppery, spicy notes of white pepper, clove, ginger, with red and dark berry fruit. Still I think this is made without any oak. More in a pure and fruit driven style. It does have good length. Quite lingering on the palate. Already delicious, thanks to its generous fruit. It should certainly round off the edges and gain some more harmony and complexity from further ageing. Good length, fine spiciness and good grip.
