Dark, purple core; dark, fruity nose with hints of smoke, pepper, blackberry and plum; quite Syrah like with good density and texture, juicy dark fruit, pepper, clove, cardamom and vanilla. Attractively firm tannin in the background, good freshness and a long, spicy aftertaste. Pleasingly done and promising.
