Argentina,
Mendoza,
Very dark and inky colour appearing very youthful, with an almost opaque colour. Quite youthful on the nose here, but then apart from that dark and inky primary fruit, there is a slight spiciness going on, with hints of ground pepper and clove and some roasted oak. The fruit is mostly on that blackberry, cassis, like really dark and ripe fruit. Palate is still dense with a high level of extract here. Still very youthful and present tannin. With a lot of plum, blackberry and dark chocolate. Obviously a very ripe and muscular style. Good length and persistence, really keeps lingering. So a wine that should be, in my mind, I would put back in the cellar for just another few years for it to round off. Still appearing a bit tight on the finish, but there is a good potential for development. Lushes fruit, density and structure. We just have to wait a little bit.
