Argentina,
Mendoza,
Very intense colour here, really inky black-purple core. Fine nose, quite elegant here, with a good emphasis on fruit. High ripeness, but nothing overripe. There is not a lot of oak present just a slight hint of fine oak in the background. Some fine spiciness as well; like plum, ginger, inky, dark fruit, like blackberry and plum. I really like the palate here, there is a great deal of concentration and density but mainly on the fruity side. The oak is nicely laid-back. The tannins are very grainy, like fine coco powder, really juicy blackberry, cassis there. Persistent and lingering flavours. Really good length, with a certain complexity. I definitely like those layers of those fine spices with very lush and elegant fruit. But it is obviously a warm climate style, but I think it is well balanced in terms of freshness. Very good drinkability today, but definitely with more structure for further development.
