Niepoort – Batuta – 2014

Medium to deep ruby colour with a purple hue. Fine nose, rather discreet and layered with mild spices, floral hints combining red and dark berries. The palate has good density and weight with a soft extraction and grainy fine tannin, fresh red berry fruit, some tobacco notes, modest oak and a long elegant finish. A digest, juicy and fresh style yet with substance.
