Paolo Scavino – Riserva – 2016

Barolo
MEDAILLE-TASTED-96-2024
Italy,
Piedmont,
Dark core and a mature ruby rim. Aromatically shy at first but nuanced with a mix of earthy and chalky notes, ripe cherry, wild berries, fine chocolate praline, rose petal, some graphite, tobacco, and approaching earthy truffle notes. The palate combines freshness and density with ripe fruit, yet not yet with the sweetness of ageing, nuanced and refined spiciness with pepper, clove, orange zest, tobacco, chocolate and a very long vigorous finish. Big wine in the making, still with plenty of potential for development.
