Argentina,
Mendoza,
Very massive colour, opaque with a black-purple centre. Intense nose, very high ripeness of fruit here, bordering on the jammed fruit. With notes of blackberry, cassis. Generous amounts of oak as well, roasted oak, some smoke, mild spices. The palate has a very high concentration, ripe fruit. Generous amount of oak. The positive thing here is that the tannins are quite subtle, already integrated. I still find the oak being a bit too present it should preferably get some more time in the cellar to shed that oak. The fruit is attractive with dark juicy berries, such as blackberry, cassis. A quite mild acidity, but still with a notion of freshness on the finish. So a dense wine, bordering on massive but yet with a softer extract. Quite long finish. Approaching drinkability today I would say, but I would prefer to put it back to let it settle a little bit more.
