France,
Rhone Valley,
Medium deep ruby-red colour, quite youthful. Offering a generous nose, with a fine spiciness here. There is hints of pepper, clove, a slight hint of vanilla. Not really any oakiness. Just a discreet hint in the background, together with sweet fruit, mostly red berries and plum. Nice palate here. Digest, with medium weight. Juicy fruit. And it offers a sensation of sweetness but it is still a classically dry wine underlined by a good freshness. Still youthful tannin but they should integrate quite soon. So well-made, modern vinification. Rounded and subtle with good drinkability now. Medium towards long finish. Good character and spiciness.
