Portugal,
Alentejo,
Dark ruby-red colour, starting to fade a little bit at the rim. Showing some age. Quite modern nose here. With a generous degree of roasted oak. There are some balsamic notes, and a lot of sweet fruit, almost like preserved fruit, plum and red berries. With liquorice and spices. The palate has a fairly high concentration. It indicates a good ripeness with sweet fruity character. Almost like jammed fruit, preserved fruit. But there is a good acidity in the background. The tannins are starting to integrate, so there is nothing hard or angular at present. Quite long finish with some spicy and balsamic notes. I would say well-made and enjoyable in a quite traditional style. You feel the sunshine, the ripeness and generosity.
