Austria,
Burgenland,
Red wine with a quite low colour intensity. It is ruby-red turning tawny. Discreet nose, with some evolution. There is some notes of spice box, of sweet red berries, slight hint of confiture, with raspberry, red plum. Medium weight on the palate. Truly leans in the direction of Pinot Noir. I would say quite full considering the grape variety, because it has a quite rigid backbone of tannin. It still appears a bit youthful on the palate, but I like the juiciness of the fruit there. Sweet red fruit, with a mild spiciness. There are some roasted notes emerging on the palate. A hint of coffee bean, some wild herbs. A gentle hint of oak. Quite long on the finish. High degree of ripeness. Hint of sweetness on the palate, but underlined by a decent level of acidity. I think aromatically it is already quite open with a certain complexity. Taste wise I think it still could round off the edges in the coming two to three years.
