France,
Champagne,
Rather deep golden colour with a mature mousse. Mature nose as well, displaying windfall, ripe plum, butter, toffee, nougat and some wood, intense and vinous in an oxidative style. The palate is broad and mouth filling with a fine creaminess, very nutty and mature with ripe plum and red berry notes, ripe and rich yet with a nice freshness underneath, and a long and nutty finish with persistent flavours. A bold and broad Champagne very far from aperitif style! Should please lovers of ripe Pinot (that I think dominates).
