Pol Roger – Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill – 2006

Bright pale golden colour with a fine mousse. Pure, mature and vinous nose, some chalky notes, layers of plum, pear, red berries with ripe citrus, butter, brioche and some spicy notes like pain d´épice. The palate is full bodied, broad and structured with an underlying fresh acidity, mild creaminess and plentiful fruit, rather Pinot dominated with darker fruit and fine extract, and a long and dense finish with fine maturity and layers.
