Pol Roger – Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill – 2008

Medium deep golden colour with fine vivid bubbles. Nutty nose with nougat, ripe fruit, rather Pinot with red berries, plum and pain d’épices. Ample and dense palate, still youthful with ample dark fruit backed by a fresh acidity, citrus zest, a mild and gentle creaminess, rather low dosage level with good grip and length. Vinous and bold but still young needing further ageing to open.
