Spain,
Castilla y Leon,
Quite youthful appearance here, medium-deep ruby with a hint of purple. Fine nose, with very bright fruit. It is exuding a lot of freshness here. So really dark berries but with a good deal of acidity, such as dark plum, cassis and cherry. There are some spicy notes such as liquorice and anise seed. Not a lot of oak it just like a spice in the background. Gentle, roasted touch. Good grip on the palate here. Really full-bodied with good weight. Good extract here. Quite finely grained tannin. Still a bit youthful, but adding a nice lift to the palate. There is a good level of fresh acidity as well. Mainly dark fruit but really with a nice juiciness and fine acidity, in terms of the fruitiness. Slight hint of oak on the finish but just a gentle roasted touch so a fine integration of the oak. The finish is obviously long, lingering. So a fine persistence. Still youthful, mainly with those primary fruit notes. However, this is a wine that has the weight and structure to develop for quite many years. It should gain more complexity and harmony all along, but I like it already now.
