Italy,
Tuscany,
Red wine with a quite light developed colour here, medium-deep ruby with a tawny rim. The nose is more on the traditional side I would say; it has some evolution in oak. There’s some notes of leather, wood, dried fruit like dried cherry, and some spicy notes. Palate has medium weight, with a dried fruity character; still with quite pronounced tannins, slightly austere in terms of texture. High acidity, high tannin, with rather discreet red cherry notes. There’s some complexity on the finish after some years of aging, apparently. I would say this is a traditional style which would preferably, for my taste, need some more time; and certainly a style that would be much better with some traditional dishes with it, to tamper those dry tannins.
