Quinta da Alameda de Santar – Reserva Especial – 2012

Dark purple core and a lighter rim. Complex nose with some maturity and development, tobacco, cedar wood, sweet dark fruit and some balsamic notes. The palate is still dense and youthful, plenty of extract but no harshness, just youthful tannin, layers of dark inky fruit with clove, pepper and chocolate notes. Good grip and length. A complex and layered wine. Should still need some time to open but a very fine potential.
