Portugal,
Alentejano,
Very youthful appearance here, with an inky blue core, quite high colour intensity. I like the nose a lot. I think this is showing ripe but not over-ripe fruit. With floral hints, violet, dark berries, with hints of cassis and dark cherry. A lot of mild spices such as clove, old spice, pepper. Nice palate as well. I think this one is a very nice example of combining ripe sunshine, ripe inky fruit. It is very digest on the palate. Excellent freshness, finely grained tannin. Quite multi-layered in terms of taste with peppery spicy notes. Some hints of orange peel and ginger on the finish. Really good lift on the palate. Very good length, juicy, already with a fine drinkability. I would still prefer to open it up a little bit with twenty minutes with a decanter. Put it back in the cellar for the coming few years. Truly very good potential, I like this a lot.
