Italy,
Friuli Venezia Giulia,
Red wine with a very dense core, almost opaque, showing a certain evolution on the rim, losing a hint of colour. Very perfumed, very intense nose combining dark fruit, plum and wild berries, with something earthy almost like black truffle, bitter almond; something really quite intriguing there, very aromatic with a lot of things going on. No oak noticeable, rather on that intense fruity slightly floral side. Palate has a good grip. It still appears rather young I would say; the tannins are still marked, they’re ripe, but they’re quite present, high extract. It has a good weight, it’s a quite full-bodied style with a good density of fruit, good extract, well-preserved acidity. I think this is a wine with good proportions, everything is there; it’s certainly drinkable now, in particular after a certain aeration. However I think this would need another 1-2-3 years to round off the edges and gain a bit more in terms of complexity and nuance. But still a very promising and well-made wine.
