Italy,
Friuli Venezia Giulia,
Medium deep ruby red colour, a certain evolution on the rim. Sweet nose offering ripe plum, rather red fruity character here; there’s a herbal spiciness as well, some notes of bouquet garni. A hint of wood, but not too noticeable. Palate has medium weight I would say, quite rounded in terms of fruit. Tannins are soft; they’re present but they’re quite rounded and soft. There’s a nice spiciness here, I get a lot of freshly ground pepper, some herbal spices as well, that sweetvanilla-infused dark plum, it takes me rather towards the Merlot Cabernet style but it’s softer, so maybe I shouldn’t speculate on that. It’s doubtlessly anyway a nice wine with a good drinkability now, medium towards long finish, a nicely rounded texture. It gives a lot of pleasure.
