France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Red wine with a medium intense ruby-red colour. Youthful nose, offering sweet fruit; red berries, plum. There’s a slight hint of oak here, rather mild spices with a hint of vanilla. Palate has medium weight, with a good degree of freshness. It feels like rather ripe fruit, but not super-ripe so we have more of those fine red berries with well-preserved acidity. It’s still a bit youthful in terms of tannin, they keep lingering on the palate, but they will easily integrate with another year or another one and a half year of aging. Oak is not really present, well integrated. It has a good length; it’s rather medium weight, but the length is a bit more than that because it keeps lingering, and I think it will gain nuance over time. An attractive wine from a rather sunny climate, ripe grapes, keep it for another year and we’ll see what happens.
