France,
Loire Valley,
Very fine brightness. Just appearing light, light- golden, but beautiful brightness. Good purity and intensity on the nose. It is obviously showing some over-ripeness with botrytis affection with some hints of saffron, honey. The fruit I would say is rather towards the ripe pear, quince, yellow apple, with a mineral presence as well. Good grip on the palate. I would say this is a wine that is not immensely sweet. It does have that high degree of sweetness, but it is well underlined by a very fresh and crisp acidity. So it doesn’t appear overwhelmingly sweet in any way. Still, I like it a lot. It does have layers, very harmonious with juicy fruit. Long finish, that keeps within that medium body frame. I would call this a sweet wine rather for the beginning of the meal, rather than the end of the meal.
