Colchagua Valley

Chile,
Colchagua Valley,
Colour indicates some evolution, it is a dense ruby-purple rim but slightly lower colour intensity at the rim. Some dried fruit on the nose; black currant, caramel, prune. Some herbal notes and liquorice. The palate has rather medium weight. With dried fruit flavours. Some fig, prune. Quite a high acidity and rounded tannin. There is a slight hint of oak. On the finish, there is still a tannic presence with some slightly dried sensation. Also with a certain hint of herbal spiciness like tea leaf, tobacco leaf, some green tea. A bit restrained. I think it is a wine that perhaps should get a bit more ageing to round off that shy roundness I find today.
