Sirromet – Le Sauvage – 2010
Granite Belt

Australia,
Granite Belt,
White wine with a quite deep colour here, light to medium deep gold, still with a nice brightness to it. The nose is intense. Displaying some notes of oak, there is a gentle smokiness, some roasted nuts. After that ripe citrus, such as lemon zest, candied citrus, and some yellow fruit. The palate has a good grip, quite full-bodied style of white. Yet, bone-dry with a crisp acidity. There is still a clear presence of oak there, adding some nutty and roasted flavours. Juicy yellow fruit, underlined by those zesty, citrusy notes. Good grip, good weight. Quite a long finish. It seems this one has a certain evolution. So I pick up some more complexity on the finish. So despite the age, I still call it a very vibrant and vital wine. Good level of drinkability, it should keep for quite a few more years.
