Amarone della Valpolicella

Play Video
Italy,
Veneto,
Quite dark core here, ruby-red. Fairly high viscosity, colour intensity. The nose is floral, with an indication of sweetness. Sweet quite dark fruit here, plum, dark cherry, jammed berries. Slight hint of mild spices, vanilla and clove. The palate has quite dense structure here, with a soft texture, so loosely structured tannin. Slight hint of sweetness here, with quite lushes dark fruit such as plum and cherry. The slight sweetness is balanced by a good level of freshness. Medium towards long finish. It still appears a bit youthful on the palate and it should develop a bit more complexity from further ageing.
