Italy,
Veneto,
Very dense colour here, still a slightly blue-purple core. High density but the rim indicates some age. The nose is showing some maturity as well, development with a hint of complexity. There is a lot of sweetness here, really sweet dark fruit, such as dried cherry, plum, spice box, tobacco, a slight hint of black truffle, which suggests some ageing as well. So a quite pretty nose. The palate is slightly sweet. Far from dry, but it does have good layers of attractive dark fruit. Quite polished texture. There is a still a hint of that earthiness, some roasted notes like liquorice, truffle. Quite persistent aftertaste, with some complex and spicy notes. Long length, certainly a wine with complexity. It is just a bit of sweetness if you used it as a normal dry wine. But towards the end of the meal, it does offer a lot of lushes fruit and good complexity. Apart from the sweetness, this is a very complex wine.
