Tenuta dell’Ornellaia – 2006

Quite dense, ruby red colour, a hint of evolution on the rim, but rather compact core. Quite elegant nose, clean dark fruit, cherry, blackcurrant, fine spices, finely tuned oak and a dash of vanilla and roasted coffee; the palate is rich and mouth filling, attractively structured with plenty of powdery tannin, dark fruit, dark chocolate, cherry, some more complex hints on the finish, long and lingering aftertaste; really fine and balanced with great drinkability.
