Tenuta Gatti – Franco – 2010

Medium deep colour, ruby-red with some evolution on the rim. Pure nose, mostly fruit driven. With quite ripe fruit here. Darker berries like cassis, redcurrant, plum. There is a slight hint of herbaceousness, but ripe herbs like mint or sage. Palate has medium weight with quite a lot of tannin. Still a slightly dry sensation on the palate with protruding tannin. So a lot of dry extract there, with redcurrant, plum and herbal notes. Medium towards long finish. Still with a slight hint of tannin and dryness. A wine I would like to put back in the cellar for a few years to round off those edges.
