Tenuta Gatti – Sice Nocera – 2012

Medium to deep ruby-red colour, still with a hint of youthful purple. The nose is pretty intense, floral, youthful, with red and dark berries. No indication of oak. Good balance on the palate. The tannins are fairly integrated. They emerge a little bit on the finish but it is underlined by a nice level of acidity. Really juicy fruit with crushed red and dark berries. Some dark cherry as well. There is a mild spiciness like ginger, pepper and clove on the finish which is medium towards long. Drinks pretty well today and it should develop over the coming four to six years.
