Inky dark purple core and a mature tawny rim. Intense and mature nose displaying earth, truffle, dried cherry, fig, tobacco leaf and pain d’épices. The palate is rich, concentrated and powerful, plenty of structure with a wealth of grainy tannin and a fresh acidity giving lift. Intense flavours of sweet cherry, chocolate praline, cassis and spice box. The finish is very long and persistent with plenty of layers and complexity, a really big, bold and complex example.
