Terre di Perseto – Albore Riserva – 2011
Chianti Classico

Italy,
Tuscany,
Red wine with a certain evolution, rather medium-deep ruby. The nose is a bit discreet at first, it needs some air to open up; it’s displaying rather classical notes of red cherry, some sweet plum, red berries. Discreet wood; there’s a hint of vanilla but no roasted notes or anything in that direction. Nicely rounded palate here; I would talk about a medium weight, classically dry with a fresh acidity. The tannins are grainy and well-integrated right now. On the palate I get a bit more of the slight sensation of oak, but just gently underlying, not in any obtrusive way there. I think really this is a texture which is today nicely rounded. It has quite good length as well, and offers a good drinkability in a classic style.
