Italy,
Emilia Romagna,
Medium to deep ruby-red colour. Quite dense core, still appearing youthful. The nose is intense. Quite layered, displaying dark fruit such as dark cherry and cassis. There is a fair amount of new oak, with some vanilla, clove and pepper. The palate has a high concentration, high extract, but well-integrated tannin. Balanced acidity, but good sensation of freshness. There is a slight hint of oak, but not too much of it. As we have layers of those lush dark flavours. Really long and lingering finish. Truly an ambitious wine, with fine potential, I would say. This will continue to develop for at least ten years. I find it pretty good already, it should just need one to two years to open up fully.
