Varela Zarranz – Tannat Crianza – 2015

Dense dark purple colour. Pure and fragrant nose, a hint of new oak, violet, dark berries, crème de cassis and tobacco. The palate is dense and full, high but polished tannin level, savoury dark fruit, a fresh backbone, and a pure and long finish with crushed dark berry fruit. Still a bit youthful on the finish, needing some more time to soften.
