Italy,
Marche,
Very inky colour, black-purple. The nose is quite discreet at first, showing a slight hint of oak with butterscotch, vanilla, and ripe dark fruit like blackberry, blackcurrant; some floral notes. Really high level of concentration. I think this combines that ripe dark fruit, like the cassis and dark plum, with a lot of tannin. I think the tannins are ripe, however they’re still quite present; it’s a style that will definitely develop with time, but otherwise I think it’s well-balanced: the oak is nicely integrated, we have a good level of acidity and also a long finish. Still a youthful wine, that should develop a lot of complexity from further aging.
