France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Very youthful appearance here dark-purple core. Fine nose. Displaying ripe dark fruit, with a mild spiciness of white pepper, vanilla and clove. Dark berry fruit such as cassis and blackberry. Quite dense structure with intense fruitiness. Rather ripe fruit with a good density and weight, underlined by quite nice acidity. Doesn’t appear heavy in any way. There is a bit more oakiness on the palate than on the nose, appearing in the shape of roasted, slightly nutty flavours. There is a well-needed presence of tannin as well. Still a bit youthful, slightly protruding, but ripe tannins. I think all this will need is another good year in the cellar. Really fine potential here, with attractive dark juicy fruit. Fine level of spiciness balanced freshness and long lasting finish.
