France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Very dark core, ruby tinge on the rim. Some evolution on the nose; some leathery notes and some balmy notes, spices, with quite sweet almost stewed fruit, sweet plum. Palate is nicely balanced, there’s a quite dense core of fruit, but with finely integrated tannins, a rather loose texture. We have some of that charming Southern French spiciness, some hints of garrigue, dried herbs, leather, with that sweet fruit. It feels to me more Grenache/Syrah in terms of style, with fine spices. Well underlined by freshness. No noticeable oak. Good level of drinkability, charming wine. Fairly persistent on the palate as well, leaving a spicy herbal aftertaste. Nice!
