France,
Beaujolais,
Youthful medium intense colour, transparent ruby-red, with a slight hint of purple. Pure nose. Quite intense fruitiness, slight hint of minerality. Displaying freshly crushed berries with raspberry, blackberry. Quite mild spiciness and some hints of violet, slight hint of anise seed or liquorice. The palate has medium weight, with good flavour intensity. More red fruity on the palate I would say, with notes of redcurrant, some aromatic herbs like sage. Well-rounded, with well-preserved acidity. No evidence of oak. Good length and juicy and subtle finish. Really attractive fruit. Drinks really well today, but it should keep and develop over the coming two, three, four years.
