France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Very intense colour, dense core and a ruby rim. Intense nose quite modern here. We have some roasted oak, we have some smoky notes. Lush dark fruit; like blackberry, dark plum, with some pepper, clove and a meaty presence as well. Nice palate. I think this is a good example of a modern style which has high concentration, really ripe fruit, with lush new oak. It is really well assembled here, nothing stands out too much. Nice and lush mouthfeel of wine. High concentration with those dark fruity flavours. Again on the palate, you encounter those spicy, peppery notes. Really long finish. In terms of texture it has a high extract, but well polished. Really grainy tannin, some notes of chocolate. I think a very complete wine, in this lush, dark and ripe style.
