Inky dark purple core and hue. Pure nose without oak influence, inky dark fruit dominates, cherry, blackberry, cassis, liquorice, ash, mint, and wild herbal notes. The palate shows high density and concentration, modest extraction with grainy tannin and a well-kept freshness, layers vigorous young fruit with just a mild hint of (old or larger format) oak, very long and lingering finish, concentrated without heaviness, some spicy, complex and balsamic notes showing up on the finish. Great character and purity. Should be interesting to follow.
