Israel,
Judean Hills,
Red wine with a very deep colour here, still on the youthful ruby-purple, with an almost black core. Needs some air to open up, aromatically. I get a lot of ripe fruit here, ripe but not overripe, rather hints of cassis, dark cherry, there is almost some aromatic herbs here. Quite fine actually, I would talk about rather layered, aromatically, with fine spiciness, those really ripe herbs like mint and sage, with those lovely black currant notes. Really nice structure here, it is obviously a warm climate wine, it has a good degree of ripeness, but I think the alcohol is well integrated. It has a tannic presence, I think the wine is just starting to open up there. Tannins are starting to dissolve and integrate nicely. Above all gives a very good sense of freshness on the mid-palate. So nicely layered with those fine spices, that juicy dark fruit. Oak seems not really noticeable as well, so we can talk about the integration of that. With a really long persistence here. High quality wine, I would happily drink it today, but it certainly has the potential to be aged for five to eight more years, no problem.
