Vondeling Wines – Vondeling Erica – 2012

Dense ruby core, starting to lose a bit of the purple blue. The nose also shows some evolution, with meat, leather, spice box and ripe dark fruit with some roasted oak. The palate has a very high concentration with notes of creme de cassis and blackberry, yet with a fresh backbone of vibrant acidity and fine tannin, some noticeable oak, mild spices, liquorice and mint, a slight hint of alcohol and a very long warming finish. Certainly a bold and lush wine XXL! Youthful but potent for development.
