Germany,
Rheinhessen,
Quite deep colour intensity here, dark ruby core. Fine nose, offering sweet fruit, some floral hints. There is violet, fresh blackberry, plum, quite mild spices, like clove and ginger. Discreet oakiness as well. Nice palate, it has a quite good weight, dense fruit, concentrated, yet with a soft texture. There is tannin present, but quite integrated, rather grainy, then with flavours of that dark juicy fruit, some notes of chocolate, fine spiciness. Again I think of old spice, ginger, pepper. Quite long lasting finish. Long lasting finish, with a juicy, red and dark fruit. Good drinkability today, doubtlessly a wine that will continue to age, but I think it drinks pretty well right now.
