Austria,
Burgenland,
Quite deep colour, still with a purple hue. Fresh nose indicating mostly dark fruit; like blackberry, plum, a lot of pepperiness, with clove. Not a lot of oak, but high ripeness of fruit. Nice palate here. Good level of concentration. I would say natural concentration, not a lot of extraction. Quite modest amounts of oak as well. It does have a succulence and freshness that appeals to me. Those grainy tannins are adding another element of freshness. Nice with that dark plum and blackberry. That distinct Austrian spiciness I talk about with that ginger, clove, pepper. Long and layered finish. Truly an attractive wine to drink now and will certainly have a lifespan of seven, eight years ahead of it. So a fine example.
