Austria,
Burgenland,
The colour has gotten some evolution starting to get a bit rusty on the rim, still with a purple-black core. Very intense nose here. Very much suggesting sweetness with dried fruity notes like prune, date and figs. With some nuttiness, liquorice, a hint of molasses almost and a hint of spiciness. This one is a bit intriguing at first, but this is obviously a sweet wine, made in a sweet style in the direction of Ausbruch, Berrenauslese or Mori which explains it. Which actually makes it quite attractive, because it does have that fine degree of that Austrian spiciness. The palate is not sweet or intensively sweet, but it still has that richness and fair amount of sugar. But elegant dried fruit, with some leather notes, prune, tobacco, fine spices and a long warm finish. A wine I would rather use for cheese than for dessert, but none the less and interesting example
