Austria,
Niederosterreich,
Moderate colour intensity here, ruby-red. Youthful nose with combining red and blackcurrant with some herbal notes. Truly leans in the direction of Cabernet Sauvignon. Still a quite cool and restrained style. Ripe, but not over-ripe fruit here. Quite discreet oak. Gentle spiciness. The palate is about medium weight. There is a good density of fruit, but the texture, despite that notion of Cabernet Sauvignon, I would say the tannins are pretty much rounded already. A bit more spiciness on the palate, which is nothing green, it is rather aromatic herbs, hint of mint and sage, with some peppery notes. Quite long on the finish as well. Well-balanced freshness as well. The oak is quite discreet, well-integrated. It shows pretty well today, but should certainly gain more complexity from further ageing. So to keep in your cellar for the coming four to six years.
