Austria,
Burgenland,
Youthful appearance still with a blue-purple. Moderately high colour intensity. Fine nose, good purity here, combining distinct spiciness here with pepper, clove and ginger. With a mix of red and dark berries, fresh blackberry, juicy plum. Quite discreet oak handling I would say. Very nice grip on the palate. Rather full-bodied, not the most concentrated or extracted, but I think a fine natural concentration here. A lot of freshness and purity of fruit which I like a lot. I get this sensation of freshly crushed berries with blackberry, plum, cassis. Again that distinct spiciness I mentioned, clove ginger. No noticeable oak really. Good example of having that density of fruit. Very discreet oak. Long, lingering finish, lot of layers, lots of things going on. Very attractive wine, I would happily drink it today. Still a bit youthful, twenty minutes in the decanter would do good, but it should certainly then have six to eight years of development if not more.
