Israel,
Ellah Valley,
Red wine with a medium towards deep ruby colour; quite dark in the centre with a slightly lighter rim, seems a high viscosity and concentration as well. Quite an intense nose, offering quite a mix of red and dark berries, quite sweet red berries, almost with a hint of confiture; with some fine spices cherry and cassis. It is certainly a full bodied wine, with a quite rich and gripey texture. There is still plenty of tannin here, that will probably still need some time to round off the edges. The tannin is adding a nice level of freshness here, because it feels like really ripe dark fruit is nicely backed up by the quality tannin. Quite persistent, good length. With an approaching complexity on the finish, it starts to open up, I get more multi-layered, flavoured sensation on the finish with some hints of violet, some floral notes and fine spices. So a wine with really fine potential.
