Ellah Valley

Israel,
Ellah Valley,
Deep and dense colour appearing very youthful. The nose starts out quite discreetly here, with a lot of sweet fruit here, sweet plum, dark berry notes, some mild spices and pepper. The palate has good weight, a bit more than medium weight I would say. Good core of dark fruitiness there, blackberry, plum notes. Underlined by some freshly crushed pepper, some sweeter spices like clove. The nose is suggesting a lot of ripeness, but I think the palate is showing more restraint, again once underlined by plenty of quite fine tannin. The length is rather convincing, it keeps lingering. On the finish I get a lot of that finely ground pepper, a lot of spiciness. I like this one, I think that it is an attractive wine that will continue to develop for the better, but after a slight aeration I would be happy to drink this already today.
