Italy,
Veneto,
Red wine with a dense core, the rim is indicating a certain age but it’s still very dense on the rim. Intense nose here with high ripeness, quite sweet fruit, dark cherry, sweet plum - almost like confiture of plum - with some notes of a lot of sweet things in there like chocolate praline or something; mild spiciness, and not really any noticeable oak. Very generous palate here, it’s rounded, it’s pretty opulent with a soft texture, with integrated rounded tannins, layers of those sweet dark cherries, plum. More spiciness going on on the finish with some hints of clove, vanilla, ginger. Really nice, it has got a good level of roundness and complexity. Very persistent as well, it keeps lingering, offering that sweet fruit, and really no hard edges. It’s a wine with a good density as well, so it should go on for quite a few years; but I’d happily imbibe it already today.
