Alexakis – Vidiano – 2014

Greece,
Crete,
Medium deep straw colour, still appearing youthful with a tinge of green. Pure nose. No oak. Mostly primary fruit. There are some grapy notes, like fresh grapes. With a fruitiness reminiscent more of white fleshed fruit, like apple and pear. We have some floral components as well. Medium weight on the palate. It has a good ripeness and still, however, young. I would say with a balanced acidity. A quite mild acidity, but it does have a certain amount of bitterness I would say, balanced bitterness, more in the direction of citrus zest, like fresh lime or lemon. It gives a good lift on the palate. Still leaves the mouth very dry and mouth-watering. Again I would say a very Mediterranean style of white wine with that notion of fresh grapes. Quite long lasting. A style I would suppose, best drunk quite young.
