Red wine with a very intense colour, still completely opaque at the core; the rim indicates a few years of aging. It starts out discreetly, but there’s a lot of stuff going on in there. I would call this very modern and polished here, I get notes of cocoa beans, some notes of smoke, new oak. A lot of dark fruit in there, dark plum and blackberry.Very dense palate, high level of concentration here. Plenty of tannin but finely grained, there’s no hardness to this; it’s just like what I normally describe as “cocoa powder” tannin. So really fine with a lot of density, high concentration, ripe fruit. I would say that the oak is well integrated now, there’s some hints of roasted notes on the finish. Really concentrated in a modern and polished style, with a very persistent finish; it really keeps lingering. Stylish, well-made, I would still however prefer to age this for another few years because a wine of this level will still gain so much, in terms of aromatic complexity and a bit more roundness on the palate, that it will doubtlessly evolve pretty well.
